May is Mental Health Awareness Month. PTA is dedicated to expanding mental-health supports and services for our kids. As parents, we know what it takes to keep a child physically healthy â€” nutritious food, exercise, immunizations â€” but the basics for good mental health arenâ€™t always as clear. The first â€œbasicâ€ is to know that childrenâ€™s mental health matters. We need to treat a childâ€™s mental health just like we do their physical health, by giving it thought and attention and, when needed, professional help.
